CAROLYN BRICKLEMYER Carolyn Bricklemyer was elected to the Hillsborough County School Board (District 6 – at large) in 1994. She is one of seven members responsible for making policy decisions and overseeing a budget of $2.6 billion for the 8th largest school district in the nation and the county’s largest employer with 30,000 employees. She’s chaired the Board twice, in 1999-00 and presently, 2005-06. She has volunteered for 23 years at the school and district level. Mrs. Bricklemyer has served as chair of the Central Facilitating Team in the school district’s program to implement Blueprint 2000, the state mandated program to create individual school improvement plans. She currently serves on the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, the Kids Healthcare Foundation, and the School Health Advisory Council. Mrs. Bricklemyer graduated from Queens University in Charlotte, NC, in 1969 with a degree in psychology and an elementary teaching certificate. She has lived in Tampa since 1983, and has been married 37 years to Keith, a land use lawyer. They have two sons – one practicing law in Tampa and married, and the other traveling after graduating from the University of Virginia. She has one grandchild. December 2006
